These Terms of Service govern your use of Anahat — the Hindustani Classical music learning application. By downloading or using Anahat, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before beginning your practice.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Anahat application ("App", "Service") on any platform — iOS, Android, or web — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the App.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Anahat. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and consented to these Terms on your behalf. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
Your Account
To access personalised features, you must register using Google, Facebook, email, or mobile OTP authentication. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately at anahatapp@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
License to Use
Anahat grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your personal, non-commercial music learning purposes. This licence does not include:
- Reproducing, modifying, or distributing any part of the App
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the App
- Using the App for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent
- Sublicensing or reselling access to the Service
Your Content
Anahat may allow you to record, save, or upload riyaz sessions, vocal performances, or practice notes ("User Content"). You retain full ownership of your User Content.
By storing User Content within the App, you grant Anahat a limited licence to host, store, and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of your recordings or practice data.
Intellectual Property
All content within Anahat — including but not limited to raga descriptions, tala compositions, educational material, the Anahat mark, brand identity, and software — is owned by or licensed to Anahat and protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
The Devanagari mark म॑ (Teevra Madhyam) as used within the Anahat brand identity is a proprietary design element of Anahat. Unauthorised reproduction is prohibited.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Anahat to:
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
- Transmit unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
- Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes any third-party rights
Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by following the instructions in our Data Deletion page. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately and your data will be permanently deleted within 48 hours.
We may suspend or terminate your access without notice if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms or that your use poses a risk to other users or the integrity of the Service.
Disclaimers
Anahat is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Music learning outcomes depend entirely on your individual effort and practice — Anahat does not guarantee any specific level of musical proficiency.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Anahat and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill — arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the law, or the App's features. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the App.
Your continued use of Anahat after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
